Conveniently located on the Southern part of the Ring road, this large hostel offers easy self check-in and check-out, along with a spacious car park. The hostel had spotlessly clean rooms and common areas, which was perfect for a light sleeper like me. The large dining area and separate kitchens made it easy to prepare meals. The isolated location allowed us to see the Northern Lights.
Felt completely at ease, no complaints at all.

The check-in process at Hvoll Hostel was incredibly easy and hassle-free. I was impressed by the spacious dining area and the three different kitchens available for guests to use. The cleanliness of the rooms, kitchen, and bathrooms was exceptional. Despite the remote location, the peaceful and quiet surroundings made for a relaxing stay. And of course, I can't forget to mention the adorable dog that added a touch of charm to the hostel.

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at Hvoll. The large kitchen provided all the necessary cutlery and appliances for us to cook our own meals. The bunk bed in our room allowed us to sleep together, and having a sink inside the room was a nice convenience. Despite the cold weather, we didn't feel any discomfort on the ground floor. The views of the surrounding nature were breathtaking, and the easy check-in/out process made our stay hassle-free.

Great location, peaceful surroundings. Expensive for our Iceland trip. Limited options in the area. Bunk bed room with sink. Spacious, well-equipped kitchen. Pleasant surprise, felt more like a hotel than a hostel. Comfortable beds, no wait for showers. Quiet atmosphere. Late check-in accommodated. Will return when in Iceland. Nice for a one-night stay. Shared bathrooms and kitchen. Remote location away from the main road. Beautiful property, good facilities for the price.

The kitchens were well-equipped and clean, making it easy for us to cook our meals. The dining room had plenty of space and we enjoyed playing the free board games and puzzles. The showers and toilets were cleaned daily and always tidy. Our room was comfortable and the heating worked well. The owner, Filippus, was incredibly helpful and kept us informed about road conditions. we had a great experience and would definitely recommend this place.

I had a great stay at a guesthouse near Kirkjubaejarklaustur. The kitchen was huge and had everything I needed. The rooms were clean and conveniently located near the bathrooms. Despite the hostel being full, we all managed to use the kitchen without any issues. The Wi-Fi worked well in the common area. I recommend this place for a one-night stopover.

We got great value for our money with a comfy and clean room, plus the beautiful location was an added bonus. The staff treated us with kindness and even helped us book our next accommodation.
The breakfast selection could have been improved with a wider variety of options.

We stayed at Hvoll for a few nights and loved it. The dining area was spacious and clean, with three well-equipped kitchens. The owner's friendly dog was a bonus. The location was enchanting, surrounded by ponds and wildlife. The rooms had dedicated sinks and toilets, and the showers were large and clean. The owner and his wife were kind and knowledgeable about the country. Perfect for seeing the northern lights.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

During my Christmas stay at this hostel, I loved the friendly and helpful staff who greeted us warmly and provided valuable information about the Northern Lights. The facilities were excellent, especially the three separate kitchens that allowed multiple people to cook at the same time. Additionally, the shared bathrooms were kept clean and well-maintained, catering to the number of guests during our stay.
One drawback I experienced during my Christmas stay was the noise disturbance caused by some inconsiderate guests. The thin walls made it difficult to sleep when others were being disruptive.

I recently stayed at Hvoll in a big, clean room with a sink. The shared bathrooms were also clean and there were several on each floor. The shared kitchen had everything I needed and the dining area was perfect for a large number of guests. The view from the room was beautiful and I appreciated the adjustable heating. I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The only downside was the slow internet once all the guests had arrived. But despite this, I would still highly recommend Hvoll to others.
